Stage is all set for TIBLS 2018: Meet the licensing leaders today!

The stage is finally set for the grand corporate event ‘The India Brand Licensing Summit 2018’, which is going to take place at Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt today. The event is powered by Shemaroo Entertainment in association with Green Gold Animation.

The event will witness top corporate honchos who will give their insights and views on the Indian licensing sector.

The summit is going to be attended by top industry bigwigs and key decision makers such as Celebrity Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, Renowned designer Krsna Mehta, Samir Jain (Executive Director and COO – Green Gold Animation), Sanjay Dhar (ACK Media President), Prasad Kapre (CEO and Director of Style Quotient Jewellery which manages ‘Being Human Jewellery’) among others.

Designer Manish Malhotra to launch his first-ever makeup line

After designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, ace designer Manish Malhotra forayed into the world of cosmetics after conquering the fashion segment.  The designer has collaborated with premium European make-up brand MyGlamm to launch a new collection.

The collection is called ‘Manish Malhotra Haute Couture Makeup’.

With celebrity fitness trainer Deanne Panday’s daughter Alanna as Malhotra’s muse, the collection is for every woman who wants to feel ‘unapologetically glamorous’, according to a statement.

“If you look good, you feel good, so beauty is a huge confidence builder. My design philosophy has always been about celebrating glamour. This Haute Couture line is accessible to every woman out there, and makes it easy to get gorgeous in no time,” said Malhotra.

The eyeshadow palettes cover all finishes from matte to metallics, with a spectacular glitter-burst at its core. The shiny lip glosses are infused with super reflecting pearls, while the lipsticks have a creamy, pigmented payoff that covers all shades of scarlet. The 18-shade nail lacquer shade palette covers everything from cobalt chrome and metallic tangerine to glitter-specked white and a holographic gold. And all of this comes dressed in minimal, chic packaging of black and rose gold.

Bharat Matrimony ropes in MS Dhoni as brand ambassador

Online matrimony service provider Bharat Matrimony has roped in cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni as its brand ambassador.

Commenting on the appointment, Chief Executive Officer of Bharat Matrimony.Com Murugavel Janakiraman said, “We are proud to be associated with Dhoni.”

“Also, we feel good because Dhoni is an inspiration to millions of youth as he has achieved a lot for the country through his leadership qualities,” he said.

As per the association, the matrimonial site would soon launch a marketing campaign featuring the cricketer on television, print, radio and outdoor.

Commenting on the partnership, Dhoni said, “It (Bharat Matrimony) is the most trusted and successful matrimony brand which has helped millions of Indians find life-partners over the last 18 years,” said on his association with the company.”

Selena Gomez releases her first apparel collection ‘Strong Girl’

Singer and actress Selena Gomez has released her first apparel collection “Strong Girl” in association Puma under her ‘SG x Puma’ label.

The collection is inspired by strong women throughout history and includes athleisurewear in shades of black, white and gray. The collection also comprises of graphic jackets, faux leather accessories, mesh tops, and a luxe velvet catsuit.

Miles Davis Properties announces global licensing deal

Miles Davis Properties, LLC announces an exclusive partnership with global licensing and merchandising company Perryscope Productions as an official merchandiser of record for music icon Miles Davis.

The recent deal was finalized by the Miles Davis Estate.

A comprehensive, high-end Miles Davis online shop is scheduled to launch the spring/summer of 2019 featuring clothing, jewelry, watches, wall art, original art and coffee table books, among other unique items.

“We’re excited to work with Perryscope to launch an extensive worldwide campaign that celebrates the genius and legacy of Miles. The size and scope of this project will be revolutionary, just like Miles,” said the Miles Davis Estate.

As per the association, Perryscope will develop a licensing program of wearables and collectibles that pays homage to the life, art, and legacy of Davis, while expanding and enhancing the globally recognized musician’s likeness worldwide.

Norman Perry, President of Perryscope Productions said, “In 1973 I found myself living in London working in concert production as part of the team that staged two sell-outs by Miles Davis at the famed Rainbow Theatre. Years later, it is an honor to be working with the Miles Davis Estate in maintaining his global status as one of music’s most iconic and innovative craftsmen. The Roald Dahl Company signs exclusive content deal with Netflix

Netflix and The Roald Dahl Story Company have jointly announced that Netflix is coming up with an exclusive new slate of original animated event series, based on the books from the acclaimed author’s library, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The BFG, The Twits, and other beloved titles.

As per the association, Netflix will bring together creative, visual, and writing teams to extend the stories in this first-of-its-kind slate of premium animated event series and specials for audiences of all ages. Netflix intends to remain faithful to the quintessential spirit and tone of Dahl while also building out an imaginative story universe that expands far beyond the pages of the books themselves.

“Our mission, which is purposefully lofty, is for as many children as possible around the world to experience the unique magic and positive message of Roald Dahl’s stories,” said Roald Dahl’s widow, Felicity Dahl.

“Immersing ourselves in the extraordinary worlds of Roald Dahl stories has been an honor and a massive amount of fun, and we are grateful for the trust the Roald Dahl Story Company and the Dahl family have placed in our team to deliver more moments of shared joy to families around the world,” said Melissa Cobb, Vice President of Kids and Family Content at Netflix.

The list of titles in the agreement between Netflix and the Roald Dahl Story Company includes Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The BFG, The Twits, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, George’s Marvellous Medicine, Boy – Tales of Childhood, Going Solo, The Enormous Crocodile, The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me, Henry Sugar, Billy and the Minpins, The Magic Finger, Esio Trot, Dirty Beasts, and Rhyme Stew.

The production for the Netflix Dahl animated series is set to commence in 2019.
