Waoh! LEGO characters narrate Turkish Airlines’ new safety video

Turkey’s national flag carrier Turkish Airlines has collaborated with Warner Bros and the LEGO Movie franchise to release a new flight safety video in which safety rules are narrated by LEGO movie characters.

“In partnership with Warner Bros. and featuring the popular characters from The LEGO Movie franchise, the safety video will be shown on all flights starting today and will also debut online,” the company said in a written statement.

The safety video is the first LEGO safety video ever made and demonstrates step-by-step safety procedures to passengers in a fun, unique style.

In the feature video, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, and Will Arnett return to their roles from the movie as Emmet Brickowski, Wyldstyle, and LEGO Batman, respectively. Additionally, there are other characters who are returning as well such as Princess Unikitty, Benny the astronaut, and Metalbeard the pirate.

Its new in-flight video features every detail of insides of the Lego plane and characters.

“Turkish Airlines is proud to have one of the youngest fleets in the world and strives to achieve the best in aviation safety standards,” the airline further added.

“The safety video will kick off the ‘biggest partnership with the smallest cast ever assembled’, hinting there is much more to come from the Turkish Airlines and LEGO Movie franchise alliance.”

Turkish Airlines will roll-out a global TV campaign, film-themed planes, and launch inflight and in-airport gigs, and even a second safety video ahead of the release of the movie.

The airline noted that 30 different versions of the new safety video were created, both in English and Turkish, to cover the safety particulars of the 15 different airplane models in the Turkish Airlines fleet.

“We are both brands that are enjoyed around the world, bringing together generations and cultures everywhere. We hope that our passengers can enjoy this new video, which has something for everyone,” said Ilker Ayci, the airline’s chairman.

Turkish Airlines, founded in 1933 with a fleet of five aircraft, currently has 325 aircraft, including passenger and cargo planes, and flies to more than 300 destinations in 121 countries.

The second installment of the LEGO movie is scheduled to open in theaters on February 8, 2019.

Van Gogh X Vans collection launched: Check out the gorgeous collaboration here

The shoes and apparel company Vans has collaborated with the Van Gogh Museum for a new fashion collection.

The new collection brings four of his classic paintings—Skull, Almond Blossom, Sunflowers, and Van Gogh’s self-portrait, as well as his drawing Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman to life on the classic Vans shoes.

Besides footwear, the line includes snag tees, hoodies, jackets, long-sleeved shirts, and hats.

Each shoe will come with its own tag that will give you historical facts behind each piece of artwork.

“Almond Blossom symbolizes new life and represents Van Gogh’s search for serenity. To bring the print and its colors to life, Vans designers digitally printed Van Gogh’s painting atop a satin material to cover the Almond Blossom Bomber, hat and backpack” the museum explained.

The Van Gogh Museum will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the preservation of Vincent van Gogh’s legacy and collection of art.

The collection is available for sale on the Vans website as well as on the Van Gogh Museum website.

Ranveer Singh becomes new brand ambassador of Nivea Men

Nivea has roped in Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as the new brand ambassador for Nivea Men. The ‘Padmaavat’ actor, with his stardom and popularity, will help the brand directly communicate to young India and create further aspiration for Nivea Men in India.

Commenting on the association, Ranveer Singh was quoted as saying, “NIVEA is a pioneer in male skincare epitomizing CARE and a brand that I have been using since my teens. Reliance Entertainment’s Zapak launches ‘Little Singham’ mobile game

Anil Ambani led-Reliance Entertainment venture Zapak has launched ‘Little Singham’ mobile game, which is inspired by the Little Singham TV Series on Discovery Kids produced by Rohit Shetty Pictures and Reliance Animation.

The game has already garnered over 3 million downloads and has clocked close to 50 million minutes and 67 million runs.

The game which is free to play on the Google Play Store is a ‘runner’ game based on the protagonist’s quest to stop the ‘Shaitan Shambala’ from escaping.

Amit Khanduja, of Zapak Games, said, “The Little Singham Mobile Game is an extension to the fun and frolics of the success the series has delivered. We are very excited about the results and the achievements of the game so far.”

Played on the streets of Mirchi Nagar it challenges the players to jump, slide, tackle and grab to get over obstacles during its endless missions. There are also rockets on your way which help you collect easy coins. Players can use coins to upgrade power-ups and run longer and score higher. The goal is to score the highest and see that no one gets ahead.

Players can participate in daily challenges and earn extra rewards with multiple missions to increase their XP multiplier. Collect Singham Tokens on the run and use them to revive when needed. Players can also connect and play with their Facebook friends and challenge them to beat your high score. The game is also optimized for tablet devices.

In May, Discovery Kids climbs to 2nd position in kids genre. The ground-up Super Hero Indian IP Little Singham accelerated the channel increase its reach to 24 million. Singham was a 2011 Indian action film directed by Rohit Shetty, starring Ajay Devgan in the title role alongside Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj as the antagonist. Director Rohit Shetty came up with another sequel – Singham Returns in 2014, where actor Ajay Devgan reprises his role from the previous film, as well as co-producing the project, while Kareena Kapoor plays the female lead thus replacing Kajal Aggarwal.

Little Singham premiered on Discovery Kids channel starting April 21, 2018, and airs every day at 1.30 and 5.30 PM respectively.

Wait, what! Masaba Gupta bags ‘Game of Thrones’ official merchandise deal

In what could be termed as good news for all the Targaryen and Stark fans, ace designer Masaba Gupta has acquired the official license to create apparel, home products, and jewellery inspired by the cast of the epic show ‘Game of Thrones’ for India, the UK, and Indonesia.

According to a Mid-Day report, the collection will release during the final season of the show, which is slated to take place around the first half of 2019.

Trust Masaba Gupta to emerge out of her self-imposed Instagram hiatus with a Hodor newsflash. On August 3, the designer posted a picture featuring the insignia of Game of Thrones alongside her brand and left her 545K followers in a flurry of excitement.

Sachin Tendulkar plans to take his fashion brand ‘True Blue’ to international markets

The god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar is planning to foray into international markets — the UK and USA through his clothing brand ‘True Blue’ soon, according to an Economic Times report.

True Blue was launched his menswear and accessories brand in association with the Arvind Fashions Brand in 2016.

The master blaster told the Economic Times that he is personally involved in the design process and gives his inputs to the creative team from time to time.

“Whenever I travel, I am not surprised to see made in India tag in clothes. So why not an Indian brand in those markets?” Sachin told ET.

True Blue is sold through 75 outlets across the country which includes eight standalone stores. True Blue had launched its first physical store in Mumbai in May 2016.

“We need to be recognized as a global brand and not just for a cricket playing nation. In the second innings of my life, there is no 75-yard boundary line that we need to set. We have a bigger playfield in terms of markets and merchandise,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

True Blue also has plans to venture into women’s wear section, although, no timeline has been set.

The apparel range has been designed keeping in mind Tendulkar’s persona. With True Blue, Arvind Fashion Brands aims to make the menswear category “unboring and more content fashion-driven”.

Talking about the joint venture with Arvind he had said, “When someone like Arvind Fashion Brands approaches you, they have a history, they are mega as far as this business is concerned. 85 years of experience is no joke. I understood what they wanted to create and this is all about being Indian and touching the hearts of Indians and beyond that, a product created by Indians.”

During the launch, the Arvind group said that it expected the label to make Rs 200-300 crore in the next five years.

Founded in 1931, Arvind now runs stores of nearly two dozen brands, including Gap, US Polo, Arrow, Sephora and Children’s Place as a licensee or JVs.

According to an India Business of Fashion 2018 report, India’s fashion retail market is worth USD 56 billion and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.7% to reach USD103 billion by 2027.
